The 74VHC123AFT(BJ) is a 3-state dual D-type flip-flop IC produced by Toshiba’s semiconductor division as part of their 74VHC logic series. It features two independent master-slave flip-flops with all necessary logic signals to allow the implementation of shift-registers, Latch’s and n-bit storage elements. The flip-flops have each a data input (D) and a clock (CP) input which is used to enter data and trigger the output at Q. Data is stored at the outputs when clock is low and clocked-in when the clock is high relatively to the data input. The 74VHC123AFT(BJ) also supports preview and output enable control signals which allow the outputs to be placed in a high-impedance state, simultaneously disabling the flip-flop trigger, when the output enable is low. This part operates over a wide voltage range from 2 to 6V, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.
