The TPD2EUSB30ADRTR with ESD Suppressors / TVS Diodes 2 Channel ESD/ Surge Solution is an integrated circuit designed and manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is designed to provide ESD, lightning, and overvoltage protection for USB 3.0 ports. The device provides protection for differential data lines (Tx0/Tx1, Rx0/Rx1 pairs) and USB port power (VBUS, GND) while retaining the USB signal integrity. It also provides ESD protection of up to 8 kV contact and air discharge on the data lines, and up to 20 kV contact and 30 kV air discharge on the power lines. The protection device offers three unique features such as an integrated fast-acting clamping network that absorbs transient events during power-up and shutdown cycles, low forward leakage current for hot-swapping, and a thermal shutdown feature that prevents device failure when transistor junction temperatures exceed the threshold values.
