The SN74LVC8T245RHLR is an 8-bit dual-supply bus transceiver manufactured by Texas Instruments. This component uses logic-level translation between two different voltage levels, typically a low-voltage level for a device, such as a microcontroller, and a high voltage level for a device, such as a segmented LCD. The device can operate with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels and is designed for digital data transmission on multiple-line buses that require electrical isolation due to differences in ground potential between systems. This component also provides bus-hold data inputs so that the data on the bus is retained if the bus inputs go to indeterminate levels. In addition, it features automatic direction sensing and is capable of running at speeds up to 80MHz.
