The SN65HVD233DR is a CAN Interface IC with Standby Mode Loop-back manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is a hardened, high-speed, and robust transceiver used for communication over Controller Area Networks (CAN). It offers a digital, multi-channel transceiver for asynchronous serial data communication. The unique Standby Mode loopback feature of the SN65HVD233DR enables the system to be run while testing: the device itself is able to isolate the test system from the outside world. When the transceiver is placed in the Standby Mode, all buses connected to it are isolated and can be tested using internal hardware. The SN65HVD233DR also features high-speed data rates up to 1 Mbps and low power consumption for automotive applications. It is rated operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C. The integrated Voltage Domain Translation feature on the chip allows it to work with a variety of voltages, including +5 V, +3.3 V and +12 V systems.
