The L78L05ABUTR voltage regulator, manufactured by STMicroelectronics, is a linear, fixed regulator with an input voltage of up to 20V and a regulated output voltage of 5V with a maximum output current of 0.1A. It features internal current and thermal limit protection (thermal shutdown and current limiting). The package is an SOT89 surface-mount design that is capable of operating across -40°C up to +125°C. The device is ideal for use in applications such as battery-powered instruments, data acquisition systems, telecoms, and other applications which require extreme operational temperature range performance.
