The SSP3485 is a RoHS-compliant SOP-8 RS-485/RS-422 IC manufactured by Siproin. It provides full-function universal half-duplex or full-duplex interface for point-to-point or network communication. It is ideal for medium-long distance serial communication applications. It features low power consumption, low propagation delay, few external components, robust ESD protection, slew-rate controlled driver and slew-rate limited receiver, fast transient response, fast shortcircuit detection and protection, auto bias termination, driver enable, fast data-transmission and low-emission sleep mode option. The SSP3485 supports full-duplex 4-wire or 2-wire communication and features 256 byte FIFO for transmitter and receiver, integrated signal processing functions for improved communication, support for automatic baud rate detection, and a wide operating voltage range from 5V to 3V. The device is compliant to the EIA/TIA-422 and EIA/TIA-485 standards and is suitable for Automation, Industrial Automation, Building Automation, Embedded Applications and other communications applications.
