The SI8431BB-D-IS with Digital Isolators 2.5 kV 2 forward & 1 reverse 3-channel isolator is a CMOS device manufactured by Silicon Labs. The device incorporates three digital isolators, which use transformer-based, passive isolation technology to provide isolation voltages up to 2500 Vrms. Each channel consists of a transmitter and a receiver pair, with the 2 forward channels being identical and the 1 reverse channel being a mirror of the second forward channel. The receiver and transmitter in each channel use two separate isolation transformers with two separate primary windings that are cross-connected. The device provides galvanic isolation between two different communication buses and between system nodes, offering data rates up to 5 Mbps. It does not require an external power supply and is thus suitable for use in portable applications. The high-speed isolation of the device reduces noise in the system, helping to eliminate system interference. The device also supports hot-swap application, allowing it to be connected and disconnected from an active circuit without causing damage.
