The 80CM Infrared Proximity Sensor from Seeed Studio is an adjustable, non-contact distance sensing infrared detector device. Featuring an adjustable operating distance of up to 80cm, the device is capable of accurately measuring distances and detecting objects without contact. It operates through an optical process, whereby the infrared light emitted by the emitter is reflected by the object and is then detected by the receiver module. The module features a built-in LED that indicates detection and can be used for multiple applications such as object detection, collision avoidance, and robotic navigation. With a compact design, the device has a wide range of operating temperatures from -25°C to +65°C, humidity from 20 - 85%, and is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. It is also shockproof and provides an IP67 water-resistance rating.
