The NCP380HSN05AAT1G power switch IC is a low-power, over-current protection manufactured by ON Semiconductor. It helps protect downstream components from damaging currents in order to optimize power efficiency and extend component life. This device is designed for fast, cost-effective protection of circuits when the current detected is above a certain predefined limit. The NCP380HSN05AAT1G uses a precision voltage reference, current limiting circuitry, and open circuit detection features, together with a logic enable circuit to enable control of power up, power down, as well as detection of any current overload condition. This device is optimized for MOSFET applications, with a low control current, low turn-on and off times, and low quiescent current. It also uses desirable thermal information to reduce the device's power dissipation during over-current states.
