The ON Semiconductor FSUSB42MUX is a low-power, two-port, USB 2.0 (480Mbps) switch IC that enables bi-directional data flow between two USB ports to support multiple peripherals with tokenised packet transmission. It features hot-swapping capability, low power consumption, and allows for up to four devices to be connected to a single USB port. The FSUSB42MUX supports a variety of system peripherals, including keyboards, mouse, storage drives, and printers, eliminating the need for peripheral adapters. Its low power consumption allows the IC to draw only 7mW from a 5V supply while switching, allowing developers to create power-efficient designs. The FSUSB42MUX is ideal for applications that require multiple peripherals and multiple port access, such as POS terminals and multimedia devices.
