USB-Compliant Single-Cell Li-Ion Switching Charger with USB-OTG Boost Regulator FAN54015 www.onsemi.com Description The FAN54015 combines a highly integrated switchmode charger, to minimize singlecell Lithiumion (Liion) charging time from a USB power source, and a boost regulator to power a USB peripheral from the battery. The charging parameters and operating modes are programmable 2 through an I C Interface that operates up to 3.4 Mbps. The charger and WLCSP20 1.96x1.87x0.586 CASE 567SL boost regulator circuits switch at 3 MHz to minimize the size of external passive components. The FAN54015 provides battery charging in three phases: MARKING DIAGRAM conditioning, constant current and constant voltage. To ensure USB compliance and minimize charging time, the input 2 current limit can be changed through the I C by the host processor. A9&K &.&2&Z Charge termination is determined by a programmable minimum current level. A safety timer with reset control provides a safety 2 backup for the I C host. Charge status is reported to the host through 2 the I C port. A9 = Specific Device Code &K = 2Digits Lot Run Traceability Code The integrated circuit (IC) automatically restarts the charge cycle &. = Pin One Dot when the battery falls below an internal threshold.
