MP8008 Fully Integrated, 802.3af/at-Compliant, PoE, PD Interface with a Peak-Current-Mode Flyback Controller DESCRIPTION FEATURES Compatible with 802.3af/at Specifications The MP8008 is an integrated, IEEE, 802.3af/at, 100V, 0.48, PD Integrated Pass Switch PoE-compliant, powered device (PD), power supply converter. The MP8008 includes PD 120mA PD Inrush Current interface and a peak-current-mode flyback 840mA PD Operation Current Limit controller. Auxiliary Adapter O-Ring Power Supply PD Power Good and Type-2 PSE Indicator The PD interface has all the functions of IEEE 12V, 1A, Flyback MOSFET Gate Driver 802.3af/at, including detection, 1-event and 2- Pulse-Skipping Operation in Light Load event classification, 120mA inrush current limit, Programmable Switching Frequency: 30kHz 840mA operation current limit, and a 100V hot- - 400kHz swap MOSFET. Frequency Synchronizing from 80kHz - The flyback PWM controller can drive an 400kHz external MOSFET capable of handling more Cycle-by-Cycle Current Limit than 10A of current for high-powered flyback Overload, Short Circuit, Over-Voltage, and PoE applications. Pulse-skipping mode function Thermal Protection improves efficiency in light-load condition.
