MP5036A 5V, 0.4A to 5A Current Limit Switch with 5.75V Over-Voltage Clamp DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP5036A is a protection device designed Wide 2.9V to 5.5V Continuous Operating to protect circuitry on the output from transients Input Range on the input, while simultaneously protecting 26V Absolute Maximum Transient Input the input from undesired shorts and transients Voltage from the output. Fixed 5.75V Over-Voltage Clamp Threshold The DV/DT pin controls the slew rate at the Fast Output OVP Response output. The slew rate limits the inrush current Integrated 43m Power FET during start-up. Adjustable Current Limit or Fixed Current The maximum load at the output is current- Limit when Floating ILIMIT Pin limited. The magnitude of the current limit is Soft-Start Time Programmable through controlled by an external resistor from ILIMIT to DV/DT Pin GND. There is a fixed, 2.5A current limit when Fast Response for Hard Short Protection floating the ILIMIT pin. OCP Hiccup Protection The output voltage is limited by the outputs Thermal Shutdown and Auto-Retry over-voltage protection (OVP) function.
