MP2615 2A, 1- or 2- Cell Li-ion Battery Charger In 3mm x 3mm Package The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP2615 is a high efficiency switch mode 4.75V to 18V Operating Input Voltage battery charger suitable for 1- or 2- cell lithium- Up to 99% Duty Cycle Operation ion or lithium-Polymer applications. The Up to 2A Programmable Charging Current MP2615 is capable of delivering 2A of charge 0.75% Full Battery Voltage Accuracy current programmable via an accurate sense 4.1V/Cell and 4.2V/Cell Selection for Full resistor over the entire input range. Battery Voltage Full Integrated Power Switches The MP2615 regulates the charge current and full battery voltage using two control loops to Internal Loop Compensation achieve high accuracy constant current (CC) No External Reverse Blocking Diode charge and constant voltage (CV) charge. Required Preconditioning for Fully Depleted Battery Constant-off-time (COT) mode control allows Charging Operation Indicator operation up to 99% duty cycle when the Programmable Safety Timer battery voltage is close to the input voltage and Thermal Shutdown Protection in order to keep charge current always at a Cycle-by-Cycle Over Current Protection relative high level. Battery Temperature Monitor and Protection Battery temperature and charging status are always monitored during each charging cycle. APPLICATIONS Two status monitor output pins are provided to Smart Phones indicate the battery charging status and input Portable Hand-held Solutions power status.
