MP201 Dying Gasp Storage and Release Control IC The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP201 is a dying gasp storage and release Wide 4.5V to 18V Input Operating Range controller. It charges storage capacitor from the 2.5A dumping current from Storage to VIN input during normal operation. Once the storage Built-in 260mA Current Limit for Charging capacitor is charged to the selected voltage, the Storage Capacitor charge is stopped, and the storage capacitor is User Programmable Storage and Release separated from the input. The charging circuit Voltage maintains the storage voltage after the charge Dying Gasp FLAG Indicator is completed. Available in SOIC-8 package The MP201 keeps monitoring the input voltage, and releases the charge from storage capacitor APPLICATIONS to input capacitor when the input voltage is Cable/DSL/PON Modems lower than the selected release voltage. It Home Gateway regulates the input voltage to keep it close to Access Point Networks release voltage for as long as possible. All MPS parts are lead-free and adhere to the RoHS directive.
