MIC2589/MIC2595 Single-Channel, Negative High-Voltage Hot Swap Power Controller/Sequencer General Description Features The MIC2589 and MIC2595 are single-channel, Provides safe insertion and removal from live 48V negative voltage hot swap controllers designed to (nominal) backplanes address the need for safe insertion and removal of Operates from 19V to 80V circuit boards into live system backplanes, while using Fast responding circuit breaker (<1s) to short circuit few external components. The MIC2589/MIC2589R and conditions the MIC2595/MIC2595R are each available in 14-pin User-programmable overcurrent detector response SOIC packaging and work in conjunction with an time external N-Channel MOSFET for which the gate drive is controlled to provide inrush current limiting and output Electronic circuit breaker function: voltage slew-rate control. These controllers offer two lockouts (MIC2589/MIC2589R) responses to a circuit breaker fault condition: the MIC2589 and MIC2595 latch the circuit breakers output Programmable UVLO hysteresis off when the overcurrent threshold interval is exceeded (MIC2595/MIC2595R) and the overcurrent filter times out while the MIC2589R Staggered Power-Good output signals provide load and MIC2595R automatically attempt to restart at a fixed sequencing duty cycle after a current limit fault. A primary Power- Active-HIGH (-1) Good signal and two secondary (delayed and Active-LOW (-2) staggered) Power-Good signals are provided to indicate that the output voltage is within its valid operating range. Applications These signals can be used to perform an all-at-once or Central office switching a sequenced enabling of one or more DC-DC power 48V power distribution modules.
