CIT-12-1 is a 12-position circular metallic connector made by Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Ltd (JAE). It is commonly used for mating of composite video and stereo audio cables. The connector has a shell made of metal that has 12 pins arranged in three concentric rings. The outer ring has five pins, the middle ring has four pins, and the inner ring has three pins. The innermost ring contains two power pins and one ground pin. The metal shell is keyed so that the connector only fits one way and prevents incorrect mating of cables. The connector also has a locking tab that helps keep the cable securely connected. The connectors are available in both panel mount and cable mount variations.
