The 74HC595A is an 8-bit shift register that is part of the 74 Series of Integrated Circuits, is manufactured by Fuman, and is packaged in a SOIC-16_150mil RoHS package. The 74HC595A can be used to control 8 outputs with the serial input from the microcontroller to save I/O pins and reduce programming effort. It operates from a supply voltage of 2V to 6V and outputs are 5V tolerant at Vcc=5V. This shift register contains an 8-bit storage register and an 8-bit shift register. Data is entered into the storage register on the rising edge of the latch signal, and is shifted out of the shift register on the rising edge of the clock signal.
