DataSheeT enpirion power solutions EP53A8xQI 1A PowerSoC Step-Down DC-DC Switching Converter with Integrated Inductor DESCRIPTION FEATURES The EP53A8xQI is an Intel Enpirion Power System Integrated Inductor Technology on a Chip (PowerSoC) DC-DC converter. It integrates -40C to +85C Ambient Temperature Range the inductor, MOSFET switches, small-signal circuits and compensation in an advanced 3mm x 3mm x 3mm x 3mm x 1.1mm QFN Package 1.1mm 16-pin QFN package. 2 Total Solution Footprint ~ 21mm Integrated inductor ensures the complete power Low V Ripple for IO Compatibility OUT solution is fully characterized with the inductor High Efficiency, up to 94% carefully matched to the silicon and compensation V Range 0.6V to V 0.5V OUT IN network. It enables a tiny solution footprint, low output ripple, low part-count, and high reliability, 1A Continuous Output Current while maintaining high efficiency. The complete 5 MHz Switching Frequency 2 solution can be implemented in as little as 21mm 3-pin VID for Glitch Free Voltage Scaling and operate from -40C to 85C ambient temperature Internal soft start circuit range. Short Circuit and Over Current Protection The EP53A8xQI uses a 3-pin VID to easily select the UVLO and Thermal Protection output voltage setting. Output voltage settings are available in two optimized ranges providing coverage IC Level Reliability in a PowerSoC Solution for typical V settings. OUT APPLICATIONS The VID pins can be changed on the fly for fast Portable Wireless and RF applications dynamic voltage scaling. EP53A8LQI further has the option to use an external voltage divider.
