EVALUATION KIT AVAILABLE MAX77950 WPC/PMA Dual Mode Wireless Power Receiver General Description Benefits and Features The MAX77950 is an advanced wireless power receiver WPC/PMA Dual Mode Wireless Power Receiver IC that meets the specification requirements for WPC Compliant with WPC Low Power (v1.2) and PMA low-power (v1.2) and PMA SR1 (v2.0) communication SR1 (v2.0) protocols. This device operates using near-field magnetic Peer-to-Peer Power Transmission with In-Band ASK induction when coupled with a WPC or PMA transmitter Communications and provides output power up to 12 watts. WPC ASK Demodulator/FSK Demodulator The IC has precision output current and voltage-sensing scheme over the entire load range. It enables accurate Output Programmable Range from 3.5V to 12.7V with 100mV Step received power packets, as defined in the WPC specifications for best foreign object detection (FOD). The IC supports Integrated High-Efficiency n-Channel Full-Bridge FSK demodulation to receive PMA advertisement ID as Synchronous Rectifier well as WPC FSK packets. Programmable Foreign Object Detection The IC features the patent-pending PeerPower function. Programmable Dynamic Rectifier-Voltage Scaling In PeerPower mode, the IC operates as a transmitter, Overvoltage, Overcurrent, and Overtemperature enabling power transfer to another peer device through Protection in-band ASK communications. The MAX77950 communicates with an application pro- Ordering Information appears at end of data sheet. cessor through an IC serial interface. The status of power transfer and alerts are read through this interface.
