MAX6369MAX6374 Pin-Selectable Watchdog Timers General Description Benefits and Features The MAX6369MAX6374 are pin-selectable watchdog Precision Watchdog Timer for Critical P Applications timers that supervise microprocessor (P) activity and Pin-Selectable Watchdog Timeout Periods signal when a system is operating improperly. During Pin-Selectable Watchdog Startup Delay Periods normal operation, the microprocessor should repeatedly toggle the watchdog input (WDI) before the selected Ability to Change Watchdog Timing Characteristics Without Power Cycling watchdog timeout period elapses to demonstrate that the system is processing code properly. If the P does Open-Drain or Push-Pull Pulsed Active-Low not provide a valid watchdog input transition before the Watchdog Output timeout period expires, the supervisor asserts a watchdog Watchdog Timer Disable Feature (WDO) output to signal that the system is not executing +2.5V to +5.5V Operating Voltage the desired instructions within the expected time frame. The watchdog output pulse can be used to reset the P or 8A Low Supply Current interrupt the system to warn of processing errors. No External Components Required The MAX6369MAX6374 are flexible watchdog timer Miniature 8-Pin SOT23 Package supervisors that can increase system reliability through AEC-Q100 Qualified (MAX6369KA/V+ and notification of code execution errors. The family offers MAX6374KA/V+ Only) several pin-selectable watchdog timing options to match a wide range of system timing applications: Applications Watchdog startup delay: provides an initial delay Embedded Control Systems before the watchdog timer is started. Industrial Controllers Watchdog timeout period: normal operating watchdog Critical P and Microcontroller (C) Monitoring timeout period after the initial startup delay. Automotive Watchdog output/timing options: open drain (100ms) Telecommunications or push-pull (1ms). Networking The MAX6369MAX6374 operate over a +2.5V to +5.5V supply range and are available in miniature 8-pin SOT23 packages.
