The LTC3226EUD#TRPBF is an ultra low-power, integrated power management solution that is specialized for use with two-cell supercapacitor (also referred to as ultra-capacitor) backup systems. It includes a high-efficiency, wide-input-voltage step-up charger and an automatic load-switching PowerPath controller. The PowerPath controller automatically switchover between the supercapacitor (as the backup source) or USB supply (as the main source) when the supercapacitor voltage starts to drop. The device is especially useful for systems requiring reliable backup power and fast turn on, including remote sensing, voice logging and security battery in areas that have intermittent supply. The device, manufactured by Analog Devices, features a high-accuracy coulomb counter and extremely low quiescent current in an optimal 2mm × 2mm package.
