The DS1972-F5+ is an 1024-bit EEPROM iButton device manufactured by Analog Devices, and is part of their iButtons & Accessories range. This device is designed for use in mission-critical or harsh environments, and contains 1024 bits of nonVolatile memory which can be accessed over a one-wire interface. This device is used for authentication, authorization, security, and storing/logging data. It is immune to electrical noise and can be used in applications where temperatures range from -40 to +85°C. The DS1972-F5+ is available in two packages, either an SOT-2D or a TO92 package. It has an operating voltage of 2.8 to 5.25 V, and draws a maximum of 1uA when powered. This low power consumption allows for an estimated battery life of 30 years for the device.
