Mg Chemicals Desoldering Braid / Solder Removal
Wick
Desoldering braid (aka solder wick) is a length of fine, braided copper wire impregnated with flux. It is used in electronics rework and repair to remove excess solder from surfaces. When heated, the flux melts, allowing the braided copper to draw the solder away and store it within the braid's fibers. After a few seconds, the solder braid should become saturated and no longer be able to absorb the solder. The solder braid can then be removed, along with any excess solder. Desoldering braid can be used on both through-hole and surface mount components. It is considered a fast and effective technique for removing solder and is often preferred over a traditional desoldering pump.
