Memory Modules & Memory Cards
Memory Modules, also known as RAM (random access memory) modules, are memory chips that store information used by computer programs. They are typically installed onto a motherboard inside a computer system and act as a temporary storage device to hold data that is immediately accessible to the system’s processor. When the computer is powered off, any data contained within the RAM is erased.Memory Cards, on the other hand, are used to store information externally. They are removable and small cards or drives that provide supplementary memory storage that can be accessed from a variety of devices, such as digital cameras and smartphones. Unlike RAM, data stored on these cards are saved even after the device is powered off. Memory cards are most commonly used for storing photographs and videos for portable devices.
