Taoglas Gateways
Gateways are devices which provide translation between networks of different types. A gateway is usually a computer or piece of computer hardware that is used to share data between disparate networks. It acts as an intermediary between two networks, allowing them to communicate with each other. Gateways typically convert the protocols and formats of one network to those of the other, providing compatibility and enabling communication. For example, a business may use a gateway to connect two different types of networks: a local area network (LAN) for internal communication and a wide area network (WAN) for external communication. The gateway will translate the data between the two networks so that computers on the LAN can communicate with computers on the WAN. Gateways are used in home, business and enterprise networks.
