The UC3846N is a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller IC from Texas Instruments (TI). It is designed for use in off-line and high frequency switched-mode power supplies (SMPSs). The device has a wide supply range to operate from 5V to 40V DC and can generate a 1.9MHz pulse width modulated (PWM) output at 16kHz to 250kHz switching frequency range. It has integrated power switch with embedded gate control, low power standby control, internal sensing, and variable off-time control circuitry. The device has a +160mV typical undervoltage lockout (UVLO) level, a 14V typical overvoltage protection (OVP) level and a 12V typical overtemperature protection (OTP) level. It features an adjustable soft-start time, an adjustable overcurrent limit and an adjustable synchronization input. It is available in an 8-pin PDIP, SO and MSOP packages.
