OF-PROFMICALUA-M (Open Firmware Protocol for Microcontroller Intercommunication over Low-cost Universal Application Media) is a communication protocol used for intercommunicating microcontrollers in Optoflash solutions. It works over inexpensive, low impedance, and easy-to-assemble media, making it an ideal solution for embedded systems. OF-PROFMICALUA-M is based on a master/slave topology, where the master controller will direct the operations of the slaves. The protocol supports features such as address discovery, broadcast messages, command/status codes, and common port configurations. It is designed for small-scale microcomponents with limited memory and speed. The protocol operates at up to 8 Mbit/s, allowing for high-speed data transfers and performance.
