The BSD5C051L is a SOD-523 Transil TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) Diode with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliance developed by Bourne. This TVS diode was designed to protect equipment from overvoltage transients, such as electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical fast transients (EFT), and lightning-induced surges. It has a rated breakdown voltage of 13V (reverse stand-off voltage) and guaranteed clamping voltage of 6V (the voltage at which the TVS Diode begins to conduct) and 5V (the voltage at which the TVS diode becomes fully saturated). It also has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, and maximum breakdown current of 5A. This TVS diode is generally used in automotive, consumer electronics, industrial, medical, and telecommunication applications.
