MAX1361/MAX1362 19-3268 Rev 5 9/10 4-Channel, 10-Bit, System Monitors with Programmable Trip Window and SMBus Alert Response General Description Features The MAX1361/MAX1362 low-power, 10-bit, 4-channel, Monitor Mode analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) feature a digitally Programmable Lower/Upper Trip Threshold programmable window comparator with an interrupt out- Alarm-Status Register Records Fault Events put for automatic system-monitoring applications. Once SMBus Alert Response configured, monitor mode automatically asserts an inter- Programmable Sampling Intervals rupt when any analog input exceeds the programmed 2 10-Bit I C-Compatible ADC upper or lower thresholds, without interaction to the 1 LSB INL, 1 LSB DNL host. The MAX1361/MAX1362 respond to the SMBus alert, allowing quick identification of the alarming device 4-Channel Single-Ended or 2-Channel Fully on a shared interrupt. A programmable delay between Differential Inputs monitoring intervals lowers power consumption at Software Programmable Bipolar/Unipolar reduced monitoring rates. Conversions In addition, the MAX1361/MAX1362 integrate an internal Fast Sampling Rate voltage reference, a clock, and a 1.7MHz, high-speed, 2 94.4ksps While Continuously Reading I C-compatible, 2-wire, serial interface. The optimized Conversions interface allows a maximum conversion rate of 94.4ksps 150ksps in Monitor Mode in normal mode while reading back the conversion results. Each of the four analog inputs is configurable for 2 High-Speed I C-Compatible Serial Interface single-ended or fully differential operation and unipolar 100kHz/400kHz Standard/Fast Mode or bipolar operation. Single Supply 2.7V to 3.6V (MAX1361) These devices operate from a single 2.7V to 3.6V 4.5V to 5.5V (MAX1362) (MAX1361) or 4.5V to 5.5V (MAX1362) supply and require only 436A at the maximum sampling rate of Internal Reference 150ksps in monitor mode and 670A at the maximum 2.048V (MAX1361) sampling rate of 94.4ksps. AutoShutdown powers 4.096V (MAX1362) down the devices between conversions, reducing sup- External Reference: 1V to V DD ply current to less than 0.5A when idle. Low Power The full-scale analog-input range is determined by the 436A in Monitor Mode (150ksps) internal reference or by an externally applied reference 670A at 94.4ksps voltage ranging from 1V to V . The MAX1361 features DD 6A at 1ksps a 2.048V internal reference, and the MAX1362 features 0.5A in Power-Down Mode a 4.096V internal reference. Small Package The MAX1361/MAX1362 are available in a 10-pin 10-Pin MAX MAX package and are specified over the extended -40C to +85C temperature range.
