Only a few input and output capacitors are IN OUT n 2% Maximum Total Output Voltage Regulation needed. Operating over an input voltage range of 4.5V to Over Load, Line and Temperature 28V, the LTM4656 supports an output voltage range of 6V n Input Disconnect in Shutdown to 36V, set by a single external resistor. Its high efficiency n Inrush Current Limit design delivers up to 5A continuous output current. An n External Frequency Synchronization in-line protection circuit sets the maximum input current, n Programmable Frequency (350kHz to 780kHz) and will trip off the input power if exceeded and retry (see n Parallel Current Sharing Typical Applications section). n Up to 98% Efficiency The high density boost design can convert up to 180W n Selectable Burst Mode Operation of output power. n In-Line Overcurrent Protection n Fault protection features include overtemperature pro- Overtemperature Protection n tection, and overcurrent protection input referred with LTM4656-1 Adjustable Compensation Version n auto-retry.
