Sofng Standard Card Edge Connectors
Standard card edge connectors are electrical connectors used to connect a printed circuit board to other circuit boards, cables, backplanes, or other electrical components. They are a type of edge connector that is used widely in a variety of applications. Card edge connectors are used in line cards, power supplies, network equipment, computer motherboards and many other commercial, industrial, and embedded applications. They are commonly made of zinc, brass, or aluminum and have contact pads on one or both edges of the connector. Some card edge connectors have keying features which prevent incorrect orientation while other card edge connectors may have non-standard features such as a screw-lock mechanism or a dust-proof seal. Each connector has its own voltage and amperage rating and is designed for use with specific pin configurations.
